The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the perfect SUV for city driving and off-road adventures! This mid-size model offers the versatility and customization that Jeep is so well-known for. Available with four different powertrains and seven various trim levels, you can find one that fits into your lifestyle just right.
When it comes to choosing a family-friendly vehicle, size really does matter. The Grand Cherokee is perfect for small families. Able to carry up to five people, there’s also plenty of room for luggage, groceries, sports gear, and more. With all five seats occupied, there is a whopping 36.3 cubic feet of space behind the back row. That’s almost unheard of for a mid-size model. You can even expand the cargo area to 68.3 cubic feet by simply folding down the second row of seating.
There’s plenty going on underneath the hood of any Jeep vehicle. The Grand Cherokee is available with four different engine choices with various capabilities. If you want something that is mostly geared for city driving with occasional road trips, you might like the 3.6L V6 engine that produces 295 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The maximum towing capacity with this powertrain is capped at 3,200 pounds. If you need something more powerful, you can choose from the next three V8 engines. The first is a 5.7L V8 engine that pumps out 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Next is a 6.4L V8 that makes 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, and the last option is a supercharged 6.2L V8 that pushes out a staggering 707 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque. With this massive engine, you will be able to tow 7,200 pounds without breaking a sweat.
Offered in twelve trims and editions, customization is the name of the game with the 2020 Grand Cherokee. Each one is designed with a specific driver in mind. The base level is known as the Laredo. It comes well-equipped with advanced features such as dual-zone climate control and rear parking sensors. Compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth, the vehicle’s infotainment interface is displayed on a 7-inch touchscreen.
Stepping up a few trim levels to the Limited model will add luxurious heated leather seats in the front and back and a heated steering wheel. Remote start technology allows you to get the vehicle heated up before you set foot outside, and the touchscreen monitor has been enlarged to 8.4-inches.
If you’re interested in off-roading, the Trailhawk trim is definitely worth checking out. This one is made for the rugged outdoors. Featuring a terrain-selectable traction control system known as Quadra-Drive II, you can easily drive over rough roads and even rocky terrains. If you opt for the Overland model, you will lose the off-roading features and gain a restyled instrument cluster on top of the features from the Limited version.
When style and features are more important, step into the luxurious world of the Summit. Adding advanced safety systems such as self-park, you can also enjoy premium sound through the magnanimous 19-speaker Harman Kardon stereo. For those looking for a race-ready vehicle, the SRT and Trackhawk trims are excellent choices. The SRT brings a sporty flair with athletically-styled exterior features, and the top-tier Trackhawk model gets the largest V8 supercharged engine, bigger brakes, and multiple updates to the exterior.
From the outside, the beautiful Grand Cherokee varies depending on the trim level. The base Laredo rides on 17-inch aluminum wheels and comes with daytime running lights. Moving up to the Limited will upgrade the vehicle to larger 18-inch wheels. It also adds a power liftgate that comes in handy when you’re carrying too much. The rugged Trailhawk features off-roading tire and skid plates for protection against scrapes and scuffs. Both the Overland and Summit roll on 20-inch wheels, and the sporty SRT gets summer-performance tires that handle higher speeds. Lastly, the Trackhawk gets black 20-inch wheels along with high-performance tires. Color schemes and accents also vary between trims, with chrome accents to black and red. You can opt for sleek, rugged, or something in the middle.
