Engine Options
The RAM 1500 is available with two engines, one of which is available in two states of tune. The half-ton pickup’s base powerplant is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 305 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. A turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine is also available. In low-output form, this engine delivers 469 lb-ft of torque and 420 horsepower. High-output turbo engines generate 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque.
An eight-speed automatic transmission pairs with each engine. Rear-wheel drive is standard for most trims, with four-wheel drive offered as an option. There are also multiple cab and box configurations, and when paired with the right equipment, the RAM 1500 can tow up to 11,580 pounds and haul as much as 2,300 pounds.
Technology Features
