California Wagoneer Dealer

There has seldom been a better time to be a driver with an interest in luxury vehicles, as the modern auto industry understands the needs and wants of more sophisticated car enthusiasts. Luxury SUVs, in particular, have become quite popular, and the two that we are most excited about are the all-new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, which are both set to forever raise our standards and what we expect from the industry. As your California Wagoneer dealer, the team here at Orange Coast CJDRF is truly thrilled about both of these vehicles and what they will allow us to offer our customers.

Stellantis, one of the largest automakers in the world, made SUV lovers and off-road enthusiasts excited when it announced that it was bringing back one of the most storied premium SUVs in history, the Wagoneer. When you are ready to get into the luxury of a Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer, come pay us a visit. Only a select few dealerships will have the honor of carrying and selling these models that exemplify premium quality, and we are proud to be one of them.

The Wagoneer is large, luxurious, and fun to drive, and the Grand Wagoneer gives you more of a really good thing. However, unlike so many other full-size luxury SUVs, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer haven't forgotten the capabilities you need in a vehicle like this. These two SUVs provide you with the ability to tow heavy trailers and have plenty of space for cargo. This is because the Wagoneer is not just the revival of a popular name but also an updating of a classical model, bringing it in line with the modern standards we now expect without losing any of the old charms and appeal we all desire. You can see this for yourself when you stop by Orange Coast CJDRF, where our friendly staff is always available to take you out on a test drive of a Wagoneer and answer all the questions you may have about this great model.

From a Jeep to Its Own Luxury Brand

The original Jeep Wagoneer made its debut in 1962. The folks at Jeep wanted a full-size SUV model to add to its lineup that would appeal to families. Efforts in the past had been made to build a station wagon or SUV model on the classic Jeep design, but none had proven commercially successful. At the time, Kaiser owned Jeep, and the company tapped famed designer Brooks Stevens to come up with the model that would become the 1963 Jeep Wagoneer.

This model had room enough for the entire family with a large trunk for all their stuff. In addition, it marked the first time Jeep built a 4x4 vehicle with automatic transmission and independent suspension. The automatic transmission made it easier to drive for customers not accustomed to handling a manual transmission, thus increasing the potential market. The independent suspension provided a smoother, softer ride as opposed to the stiffer ride in most other Jeep models. This gave it a feel that family riders were more accustomed to with a full-size sedan. Still, the Jeep Wagoneer's 4x4 gave this SUV better handling in inclement weather than the average rear-wheel drive sedan popular at the time. As a result, Wagoneer drivers could go out driving in the snow while their neighbors were stuck at home getting cabin fever.

The Wagoneer quickly became a popular model with suburban and rural drivers who wanted more out of the family car. In the '70s, American Motors Corporation acquired Jeep from Kaiser and introduced an all-new Quadra-Trac 4x4 system to the Wagoneer, giving the vehicle better traction. It also boosted the performance of the Wagoneer by giving it a larger V8 gas engine. By the end of the decade, Jeep had introduced a more luxurious model called the Wagoneer Limited. In 1984, Jeep would rename this model the Grand Wagoneer.

One interesting design element of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer was the use of wood-colored applique on the exterior sides of the vehicle. This was a nod to the old woodies built in the '30s and '40s when station wagons and early SUVs were constructed with wooden sides. While building luxury vehicles out of wood was no longer practical nor safe, Jeep still wanted to remind folks of the legacy that led to the development of the Wagoneer lineup.

Unfortunately, by the end of the '80s, the time had come for the Wagoneer. Chrysler acquired Jeep in 1987, and production priorities and popular tastes had moved to minivans and smaller SUVs like the popular Jeep Grand Cherokee, which had been introduced in 1984. Jeep discontinued the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer after the 1991 model year, and that's the way things stood for almost 30 years.

Now, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer have returned as their own brand, providing luxury and style far beyond their predecessors. These new models are forging their own path into the market as icons of American luxury mixed with off-roading prowess. Standing on their own in a whole new category, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are showing the world that you don't have to choose between luxury and off-roading capability.

Amazing Features Found Nowhere Else

Both the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are two of the most technologically-advanced and impressive pieces of machinery on the road. All you have to do is sit inside the Grand Wagoneer to recognize that it is something special that has been designed by engineers and artists with a true passion for automotive design. For example, inside the Grand Wagoneer, you can find more than 75 inches of total display area available spread across the front and back of the vehicle. This includes a pair of infotainment displays, a dedicated driver display, a class-exclusive passenger interactive display, along with a second-row display on the rear of the front console between the seats, and a pair of screens offered on the backs of the front seats.

The Grand Wagoneer also features an available sound system that surpasses anything else on the road. This is an industry-first audio experience: the amazing McIntosh Reference Entertainment System has never been allowed in a vehicle before, but you can find it in the Grand Wagoneer with 23 speakers that deliver sound quality and richness that surpasses anything else out there. Remarkable and advanced technology really is the domain of the Grand Wagoneer, with additional features like an available Interior Rear Monitoring Camera that makes it easy for the driver and front-seat passenger to keep an eye on whatever is going on in the back of the vehicle. Combine all of this with a Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system and Quadra-Lift Air Suspension, and you have a driving experience unmatched by anything else.

The 2023 Wagoneer L

For 2023 the Wagoneer has been expanded with an all-new option: the Wagoneer L. This gives you the incredible luxury and sophistication that we have found so remarkable in the Wagoneer, but with a longer wheelbase and overall size. While we certainly love the standard Wagoneer and everything it has to offer, there is no denying that this longer size really suits it well and elevates what it brings to the road. If you do not need the extra interior space, then you can still get the remarkable Wagoneer with amazing features throughout.

The biggest difference (no pun intended) of the Wagoneer L is its increased length, which gives you significantly more rear cargo space. Looking at the standard Wagoneer, it has a 123-inch wheelbase and measures 214.7 inches in overall length from front to back. By comparison, the Wagoneer L features a 130-inch wheelbase and measures 226.7 inches in overall length – an increase of a full foot, which you can really see when you look at the profiles of these two vehicles. This extra length is primarily in the rear and results in nearly 15 cubic feet of additional cargo volume behind the third row of seats.

In addition to this additional size and cargo capacity, the all-new Wagoneer L also features one of the most impressive engines on the road. When it comes to performance, Wagoneer is really showing off this year with their new Turbo 3.0L I-6 engine, which they have named “Hurricane.” In the Wagoneer L, this engine comes standard and delivers 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque; it is available on the standard Wagoneer too. You can also find all of the refined luxury and sophisticated technology available inside the Wagoneer L that you would expect, including a stunning 10.1-inch infotainment display, Driver Information Digital Cluster, and a class-exclusive available Passenger Interactive Display.

The 2023 Grand Wagoneer L

While we already love everything the Grand Wagoneer has to offer, for the 2023 model year, it has been joined by a second option: the Grand Wagoneer L. This is a longer model than the standard Grand Wagoneer, with a longer wheelbase and an increase in overall length, which results in significantly greater cargo capacity in the rear of the vehicle. The longer design looks absolutely stunning from the side and creates a strong profile that perfectly suits the overall shape and aesthetic of the Grand Wagoneer L. Of course; this larger size is packed full of all of the amazing innovations and next-generation technology that the Grand Wagoneer has come to be known for since its release.

The first thing you will likely notice about the Grand Wagoneer L is its increase in size compared to the standard Grand Wagoneer. Though both models stand the same height and look just about identical from the front, when viewed from the side, you can really see the increase in length. The standard Grand Wagoneer has a 123-inch wheelbase and measures 214.7 inches in overall length, while the Grand Wagoneer L features a 130-inch wheelbase and measures 226.7 inches in length, making the Grand Wagoneer L a full foot longer. This difference in length is primarily at the rear of the vehicle and gives you greater cargo space: the Grand Wagoneer has 27.4 cubic feet of rear cargo capacity, while the Grand Wagoneer L features 42.1 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the third row of seats.

In addition to this boost in length, the Grand Wagoneer L also comes with an improved standard engine, which is available on the Grand Wagoneer. This is the new “Hurricane” Turbo 3.0L I-6 engine – the Grand Wagoneer L features a High-Output version of it compared to the Wagoneer L, which delivers 510 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. The boost in performance is exceptional and makes driving this beauty an absolute pleasure. Inside the Grand Wagoneer L, you can find the remarkable technology we have come to expect with this model, including over 75 inches of available display area with four screens offered just up front.

The 2022 Wagoneer

The first of two bold new luxury SUVs available from Stellantis, the 2022 Wagoneer is a fantastic choice if you want some of the features available, but you are not sure you need everything they have to offer. With the Wagoneer, you get a truly revolutionary driving experience packed into a large, three-row luxury SUV with available seating for up to eight people. This includes best-in-class overall passenger volume and excellent headroom and legroom throughout the vehicle.

Powering the 2022 Wagoneer is a 5.7L V8 engine that delivers 392 horsepower and 404 pound-feet of torque, which includes a next-generation eTorque mild hybrid system to boost performance and fuel economy. This comes paired with a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission and a standard 4x4 system that makes the Wagoneer a great choice for just about any adventure. For truly incredible comfort, there is an available Quadra-Lift air suspension system with multiple settings that you can adjust for optimal performance, comfort, or boosted ground clearance.

Inside the all-new Wagoneer, you will find some of the most stunning luxury features we have ever seen. These include three-zone climate control, 12-way power-adjustable front seating, and Nappa leather-trimmed seats with an available tri-pane sunroof. The technology inside the Wagoneer is also on another level compared to everything else out there, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, a 10.1-inch infotainment display, and an available 10.25-inch front passenger display. The updated infotainment system includes support for Amazon's FireTV Auto system, with an available 19-speaker McIntosh premium sound system.

The roomy interior offers the most third-row headroom and legroom of any vehicle in its class, so your third-row passengers will be really comfortable. The infotainment system is top of the line. The 27.4 cubic feet in the trunk can also be easily expanded to accommodate up to 94.2 cubic feet of cargo, and if that isn't enough for all your gear, the Wagoneer also boasts a best-in-class towing rating of 10,000 pounds. The 2022 Wagoneer is truly where luxury and performance meet in an exceptional model.

The 2022 Grand Wagoneer

If you find yourself interested in the features and options of the standard Wagoneer, but want something even more powerful and prestigious, then you owe it to yourself to take a look at the all-new Grand Wagoneer. The Grand Wagoneer includes a standard 6.4L V8 engine that delivers 471 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque for even greater performance. This also comes paired with a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission, while an independent rear suspension provides you with a smooth driving experience. The Grand Wagoneer is just as impressive for going off-road: it features 4x4 drive standard, with the available Quadra-Lift air suspension to take it even further.

While the luxury of the standard Wagoneer is fantastic, somehow, the Grand Wagoneer actually goes beyond what it has to offer. With the Grand Wagoneer, you get Satin American Walnut wood details and panels throughout the interior, with Nappa leather standard. Available Palermo leather-trimmed seating with French accent stitching, quilting, and a leather-wrapped instrument panel takes this level of sophistication even further. And for truly unbelievable comfort, the Grand Wagoneer comes with 24-way power-adjustable front seats, which include memory settings and massage functionality.

The Grand Wagoneer also takes technology even further than the standard Wagoneer, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a dual center display featuring both 12-inch and 10.25-inch screens, and the available 10.25-inch passenger display. With three more displays offered for the second row, not to mention an available 10-inch head-up display for the front windshield, you and your passengers can enjoy a driving experience that you will not find anywhere else. The available 23-speaker sound system from McIntosh elevates the Grand Wagoneer even further, creating an audio environment that leaves every other luxury SUV out there in its wake.
