Ram Vehicles

If you are interested in a truck, you have plenty of options available to you; few of them, however, are as impressive, luxurious, or powerful as those made by Ram. Ram pickups have been at the forefront of the industry for decades, and during this time, they have developed into some of the premier models available. Whether you are looking for new or used Ram vehicles, you have a number of great options available to you, depending on what you need.

Choosing the right truck really comes down to figuring out just what you require in your pickup, looking at your options, and finding the one that checks all of your boxes. However, with so many different trucks available, that can be more difficult than it might sound, which is why it is so important to have someone by your side to help you out. Here at Orange Coast Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Fiat, we always put the needs of our customers first, focusing on working closely with you to ensure you get just what you need. Three 2021 Ram vehicles, the 1500, 2500, and 3500, are in a field.

The Ram Legacy

Although the Ram pickup dates back to 1980, its real legacy goes back even further to the early Dodge trucks. The Dodge D series, for example, was produced from 1960 up until it was replaced by the Dodge Ram Pickup in 1980, with other Dodge trucks made before that. As you can see, decades and generations of work have gone into developing modern Ram vehicles into the most impressive and powerful version they have ever been. They may have dropped the “Dodge” name in 2010, but the heart and soul of these powerful and sophisticated trucks remain the same.

Since it was first introduced in 1980, the Ram pickup has been through a lot of changes and evolved into one of the most impressive trucks on the road. Its first generation ran until 1994, which is a surprisingly long time for this sort of vehicle and demonstrates just how great it was from the very beginning. The third generation for the Ram pickup was built until 2002, and a fourth generation launched for 2009 – it was during this run the Dodge name was dropped so that Ram could focus entirely on building trucks. When the fifth generation was released in 2019, the Ram pickup had become one of the most popular trucks on the road, with luxury and technology features that put other models to shame.

The Ram 1500

You have several different truck options available when looking at Ram vehicles, starting with the half-ton Ram 1500. This is a full-size, light-duty truck that is a great choice if you want a vehicle that can work hard and play hard. As a full-size model, you get lots of space both inside the cab and in the bed of the truck, with plenty of power to handle just about anything you throw at it. This is the model we typically recommend to someone looking for a truck for general use since it perfectly combines great power with very accessible features.

Do not let the light-duty designation fool you, however, as the engines available on this pickup make it one of the most powerful trucks in its class. While the Dodge name might not be part of Ram trucks anymore, the legacy of performance and engineering that we associate with models like the Dodge Charger is still on display. If you want a powerful HEMI V8 engine, then this is the truck for you. The interior of the Ram 1500 has some of the best luxury options and tech features on the market, making it perfect for staying comfortable and connected even on the way to a job site.

The Ram 2500

If you like the look and feel of the Ram 1500, but you need something with more muscle, then you should consider the three-quarter-ton Ram 2500. This is also a full-size model, but at this point, you are looking at heavy-duty levels of performance. That means that you will find greater towing and payload capacities on Ram 2500 models than you will on the standard Ram pickup. In terms of overall size, however, the Ram 2500 is comparable to the Ram 1500, so you will not find yourself with something massively different.

Best of all, the Ram 2500 typically has all of the same features available in the Ram 1500 pickup. That means you can still get fantastic technology and safety features on the Ram 2500 to make driving it very enjoyable. The engineers and developers at Ram understand that while you might need to tow a tremendous amount of weight behind you, you are also interested in staying connected with your devices. Whether you need navigation to a job site or like having active safety features to help protect you on the road, you are covered.

The Ram 3500

Finally, we come to the Ram 3500, which is the largest and most powerful pickup in Ram’s lineup. This is a one-ton heavy-duty model that is designed to handle a massive amount of towing and payload capability. If you look at the spec numbers for the Ram 1500 and 2500 only to find that they fall short of what you need, then the Ram 3500 is the Ram vehicle you should be looking at.

As a heavy-duty model, the Ram 3500 is a great vehicle for commercial applications, which is why we often recommend this one for our customers who work in trades. If you need serious towing and payload, then this is a great choice that can handle a massive amount of weight. The Ram 3500 is available with a dual-rear-wheel configuration that is ideal for handling high payloads or if you intend on doing some gooseneck or fifth-wheel towing. Fortunately, all of this power does not come at the expense of the impressive technology found in other Ram trucks, so you still get a fantastic driving experience.
