Our Favorite Jeep Models at Orange Coast

There are few brands out there that have developed such iconic SUVs like Jeep. Jeep has been a heavy hitter in the auto industry as far back as the Second World War when they developed vehicles for the US military. While Jeep develops vehicles for civilians nowadays that rugged sensibility is still entrenched in every model that rolls out of their factories. At Orange Coast, we’re big fans of the Jeep brand and are proud to offer our customers a wide selection of Jeep models to choose from. Our showroom boasts a pretty broad range sweeping between the diesel Jeep Wrangler and the fuel-efficient and quirky Jeep Renegade.
While the Jeep brand may mostly develop SUVs, each model is unique in its own way and can offer a driving experience that is certainly worth checking out in person. If you’re interested in sitting behind the wheel of a new Jeep vehicle, our team at Orange Coast is here to help you through the buying process so you can enjoy the Jeep model of your dreams. To give you an idea of what Jeep has to offer, we’ve compiled a list of some of the leading models in our showroom.
The Ever-Impressive Jeep Wrangler
While the Jeep family lineup may be packed with pretty formidable SUVs, few make waves like the Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Wrangler is an SUV that relies on classic style and performance to garner quite a bit of appeal. Styled like the popular CJ-series models of the 60s, the Jeep Wrangler is the flagship of the entire Jeep brand. With the round-headlights, iconic grille, and boxy design, the Jeep Wrangler is a clear standout from other more off-road centric SUVs. And the Jeep Wrangler doesn’t just look the part either, as this SUV lives up to expectations when taken off the pavement.
What powers the Jeep Wrangler? Well, some models get a robust 3.6-liter V6 engine that uses a 6-speed manual transmission or 8-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive to deliver a pretty worthwhile driving experience. This powertrain manages to offer up 285 horsepower, and while the ten or so inches of ground clearance makes entry-level models pretty off-road capable, but this isn’t the height of the Jeep Wrangler’s capability. For 2020 there are additional powertrains in the Jeep lineup, and they include a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine, which earns 270 horsepower but has some pretty substantial low-end power. While both the entry-level V6 and the optional turbocharged four-cylinder are a pretty big deal, it is the turbo-diesel powertrain that steals the show.
Turbo-diesel engines excel at providing a pretty substantial amount of torque. Torque is an essential spec for any off-road vehicle, as it is crucial in helping a vehicle overcome off-road obstacles. With the turbo-diesel Jeep Wrangler, you can elevate the off-road performance of an already impressive adventure vehicle. This turbo-diesel engine is a 3.0-liter V6, which also uses a mild-hybrid eTorque system. This turbo-diesel engine can produce 260 horsepower and an incredible 442 lb-ft of torque, which makes it one of the most torque-heavy Jeep models in the family lineup.
If you’re looking for the most off-road-ready Jeep Wrangler model of the bunch, the Rubicon trim ought to tickle your fancy. This model provides an assortment of off-road gear, including 33-inch tires, an improved suspension system, locking differentials, and disconnecting sway bars. While other trims can be purchased in the four-door body styling, the Rubicon is the only model that is exclusively made in the 2-door form. On top of that, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon comes with removable doors so that you can venture into the heart of the wilderness, completely unhindered. Partnered with that unstoppable turbo-diesel engine, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is ready for any trek or outdoor adventure.

A New Face in the Jeep Family
For the most part, the Jeep family is made up of SUVs, both large and small. However, amongst this varied lineup is a new line of pickup trucks that first rolled out of factories back in 2019. Known as the Jeep Gladiator, this Jeep pickup truck is the newest member of the Jeep family. In typical Jeep fashion, the Jeep Gladiator is styled to look a lot like the Jeep Wrangler, but with a five-foot truck bed slapped onto the back end. And as to be expected, the Jeep Gladiator is quite the off-roader, especially when you step up to the Rubicon trim.
The Jeep Gladiator seeks its power from a 3.6-liter V6 engine, the same engine found on its brother, the Jeep Wrangler. Like the Jeep Wrangler, drivers can opt for a 6-speed manual transmission or 8-speed automatic. When properly equipped, the Jeep Gladiator can haul up to 7,650 pounds behind its tailgate. Also, like the Jeep Wrangler, the Jeep Gladiator gets a Rubicon trim that’s geared for off-road driving. Some of the equipment you can find in the Rubicon trim includes 33-inch off-road tires, locking front and rear differentials, and an automatic sway bar.
What makes the Jeep Gladiator special is the fact that interior passengers get plenty of room for comfort, something that some competitors miss out on. When you sit in the back end of the Jeep Gladiator, you’ll have 41 inches of legroom in total. Interior amenities are pretty solid, too, with some models getting a sprawling 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also safety tech in the Jeep Gladiator like blind-spot monitors and adaptive cruise control with automatic emergency braking that expand on an already fully-loaded package.
What to Expect from the Jeep Renegade

Sometimes there are models within an automotive collection that stand far and away from the existing lineup, for Jeep, that’s the Jeep Renegade. The 2020 Jeep Renegade is a smaller SUV, inspired from the classic Jeep Wrangler, but with a modern twist. Some have described the Jeep Renegade as the quirky cousin of the Jeep Wrangler with its ‘x’ taillights, miniature footprint, and classic round headlights and front grille. Although, the timid exterior is misleading, if you take a deeper look at the Jeep Renegade, you’ll find a remarkably capable compact SUV that is almost designed to break expectations.
This small SUV comes as standard with a 2.4-liter inline-4 engine that yields 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, all with the help of a 9-speed automatic transmission. In base models, you’ll find two-wheel drive, although you can upgrade to all-wheel drive. And if you want something that’s a little more off-road friendly, you can invest in the Trailhawk trim. The Jeep Wrangler Trailhawk uses a 177 horsepower 1.3-liter turbo-4 engine that produces 200 lb-ft worth of torque. The Trailhawk model also gets a 20:1 crawl ratio, and all the torque is divided 50/50 between the front and rear-end. On top of that, the Trailhawk gets a higher stance and an intuitive hill-descent control system.
Inside the Jeep Renegade, you’ll get the standard fare of incredibly modern tech that you can find in other Jeep models. Features like an Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible infotainment system and a panoramic sunroof truly elevate the experience of driving something as unique and zippy as the Jeep Renegade.
These are just some of the Jeep brand models that you can expect to find at Orange Coast. When you pay us a visit, we can give you an up-close and personal look at all of the models on our lot. Our number one goal is to satisfy your automotive needs, no matter what that specific need may be.
