The Unlimited Potential of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe

Every year, Jeep sets the bar so high that it should be impossible for them to surpass it, and they somehow manage to release better vehicles than the year before. We aren’t exactly sure how they can keep up this pursuit of excellence, but they do. Their ability to achieve excellence means we get excellent vehicles here at Orange Coast CDJRF. This means that our incredible customers get to keep benefitting from the great releases that Jeep is putting out. The 2022 releases were particularly exciting and came with an updated Jeep Wrangler, the Unlimited 4xe. While Jeep has only been manufacturing these hybrid models since 2021, the new Jeep Wrangler 4xe works as though they’ve been doing it their whole lives! Here’s why we think the 2022 4xe has unlimited potential.

It’s A Hybrid

Hybrids are a hot commodity right now as the world moves towards a more eco-friendly mindset. Since we still have to be able to move around, drive to work, run errands, and enjoy the great nature we are trying to preserve, Jeep combined these things and gave us the 4xe. The hybrid label usually means sacrificing some of the power of an engine, but Jeep has been around the block long enough to know that Jeep drivers weren’t going to accept some compromised hybrid vehicle. They put their best 375 horsepower 2.0L Turbo PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) engine in the Wrangler 4xe. Paired with the 475 lb-ft of torque, the 4xe doesn’t drive like hybrids of the past. It’s more fun, more powerful, and more efficient.

In fact, this hybrid engine is so efficient that you can expect to get the equivalent of 49 MPGe (miles per gallon)! If you kick it into four-wheel drive, that decreases to 22 MPG. This is right on par, and in some cases even better, with how other SUVs and trucks perform when utilizing their four-wheel drive. The other benefit of the way Jeep set up this hybrid engine is that the 4xe doesn’t rely entirely on just electric power. You can select exactly what type of engine power you want to use in the 4xe. Jeep has provided an easy select station for drivers to alternate between hybrid, electric, and eSave power options. We like how they did that because it allows the Wrangler to maintain its king of the off-road status. Since there’s not likely to be any conveniently placed charging stations out in the mountains, Jeep made sure that you can still enjoy the rock climbing and hill conquering awesomeness in the 4xe.

The last thing we want to cover with the hybrid engine is brake energy regeneration. This is just one more way to recharge your battery in the middle of nowhere that Jeep took into account. Since part of the take care of the Earth movement is to reduce, reuse, and recycle, Jeep applied that concept to their hybrids. The 4xe can recharge its battery while you are braking. So basically, you are recycling the energy that you would typically lose through braking your vehicle but using it to charge the battery. Ultimately reducing the energy wasted and the amount you have to use later to charge your vehicle. Talk about efficiency!

Exceptional Ground Clearance

Jeep knows that the off-road is just calling their drivers, and they want to get out and explore without having to worry about modifying their vehicles to get out to the wilderness. This is why they make it, so you don’t have to. The 4xe comes with the same great clearance as all Wranglers should. This clearance applies to high-rise rocks and low-bottomed streams. If you’re a fording type, the electric components of the engine are still cleared for the standard 30-inch depths of water. If you’re the “go play in the mud and possibly get stuck” type, you’ll be happy to know that Jeep has included some bright blue tow hooks on the front and rear ends of the 4xe. This lets you feel confident in your Jeep’s abilities to get you out of sticky situations.

A Variety of Trims

The 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe offers a variety of trims that covers all types of off-road drivers and the features they’re looking for. Whether it’s comfort, safety, or innovative tech, the 4xe has you covered.

Sahara

The Sahara is what Jeep has dubbed their base level 4xe, so it includes all your basics and a little more. One of the extra things Jeep included for this trim level is the Uconnect 4C NAV and Alpine Premium Audio System. This is an excellent sound system and is paired with an 8.4 inch infotainment screen. This GPS and sound system combo ensures that drivers never get lost, and you are always well connected. It is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enabled, allowing you to listen to music even if you’re out of radio service.

Rubicon

The next level of trim is the Rubicon. Since the Sahara goes above and beyond, you probably know the Rubicon trim goes further. One of the main differences is the addition of the Rock-Trac 4×4 system and 17-inch wheels. This incredible 4×4 and suspension set-up paired with the larger wheels allow the Wrangler to climb rocks and conquer mountains. Other differences are the interior blue stitching and an available windshield upgrade.

High-Altitude

If beyond the beyond isn’t far enough away from basic for you, welcome to the infinity and beyond trim. You get leather seats and accents, plus a special interior trim. The upgraded LED lights cover headlights, taillights, and fog lights. So your vehicle lighting is bright all the way around. Jeep has added some additional safety and driver assistance features such as cross detection. If you like rear-assisted parking and blind-spot detection, the High Altitude trim is for you.

There’s Nothing Like a Jeep

There are some features of the Wrangler 4xe that can be explained in one word: Jeep. While the powertrain may be different because it’s a hybrid, the rest of it is not. You can still expect the doors and roof to come off, the windshield to fold, and an available soft top. As all Jeeps should, the 4xe has an underbody skid plate that protects it from rocks that the clearance can’t avoid. It comes standard with above standard quality features. Some of these are keyless entry and start, and the matching hard tops are available. The over and above focus on quality in the 4xe just shouts that it’s a Jeep, through and through.

Jeep has always been very safety conscious, so you know that they made sure to include automatic emergency braking, lane keep assistance, and lane departure warnings. They also have forward-collision warning and adaptive cruise control. Another great benefit of the Jeep 4xe is that it will retain its value. Unlike some vehicles that will drive off the lot and immediately be worth thousands less than they were just bought for, the Jeep is known for maintaining, and sometimes surpassing, purchase price value. We would wager that buyer’s remorse has never been felt by those purchasing a Jeep.

Come Experience the Jeep Wrangler 4xe

If you’re in the market for a new Jeep or hybrid, Orange Coast CDJRF really cannot recommend the Jeep Wrangler 4xe enough. From top to tire, this vehicle has what it takes to be one of the best hybrids available on the market. We truly mean it when we say this vehicle has unlimited potential. It’s environmentally friendly to drive, astoundingly powerful, incredibly efficient, and so very Jeep that you just cannot go wrong getting it.
