Why conform yourself to a bland SUV? A glorified sedan with the inability to do anything off-road or handle poor weather? When you look over the SUV landscape, you'll find, time and time again, SUVs that can't handle rainy conditions or poor visibility, let alone a pothole or slick pavement. Far too many manufacturers miss the purpose of a Sport Utility Vehicle. It's not just supposed to be slightly larger than a sedan. It's supposed to give you the performance and durability of a well-built machine. It's supposed to be, as the name suggests, a utility vehicle that can handle it all. Jeep, the king of SUVs, understands this, which is why it offers the Renegade — built for those who want a Wrangler-like body but don't need the removable doors and infinite customization options. So check out the 2020 Jeep Renegade, because it certainly will give you its undivided attention.
Unlike other small SUVs, the 2020 Jeep Renegade comes with two engine options. This way, you can decide what will work best for your commute and what you'd like your ideal SUV to do.
The first engine is the 1.3L Turbo I4. This engine, despite its small size, produces 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. It also will give you up to 32 miles per gallon on the highway. With the nine-speed automatic transmission, you will save on gas, and you'll feel the smoothness of the Renegade as it accelerates effortlessly.
The second engine option is the 2.4L Tigershark. This engine comes with a MultiAir feature to help lower your emissions. All of this while helping you net 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque.
No matter the engine you go with the Jeep Renegade comes with a Selec-Terrain Traction Management system. This allows you to adjust how the vehicle performs based on the terrain, including snow, sand, mud, and rock. This way, no matter where you're driving or what kind of road conditions are ahead of you, you'll always have an SUV built to handle it.
The Jeep Renegade might not have the kind of customizable features as its Wrangler brother, but that doesn't mean it is fully lacking some removable elements. This includes the MY SKY power removable sunroof. With this feature, the roof acts like a traditional roof. You can't see out of the top when it is closed. Then, if you want sunlight, you open it, and the top portion of the sunroof will open. And yet when you want to fully take in the beautiful sunny weather, you can completely take off the removable sunroof.
If you don't think you'll ever remove the sunroof, not a problem there. You can also spring for a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. This gives you a tinted glass ceiling for both front and back seats. Then, if you want it open, the front portion will slide open for the driver and front passenger.
To help light your way while driving at night or when the thick local fog sets in, don't worry, as the Jeep Renegade has you covered for this. It includes available LED lighting for both the front headlight and rear lights. LED lights are brighter, shine further, and last longer. Plus, as LED lights don't produce the same kind of heat as traditional lighting, you won't have to deal with that foggy front headlamp issue you've likely dealt with in the past.
On the interior of the Jeep Renegade, there's a number of trims and accent options. All of this is based on the specific trim you decide to go with.
The Limited trim includes two leather trim options that come with tonal accent stitching. The Trailhawk trim features topographic cloth and ruby red accent stitching. There is also the Trailhawk logos included throughout the SUV. The High Altitude trim offers black leather McKinley leather trim and tungsten stitching. When you opt for the Altitude trim, it features black deluxe cloth and black accent stitching to give you a completely black interior. The Latitude trim features three internal cloth color options with tonal accent stitching (depending on the color interior you go with). The Sport trim features brown or black Washington mesh cloth with tonal accent stitching while the Upland trim uses black Washington cloth and black accent stitching.
Whether you're stuck in traffic or you're driving across the state to visit family, you'll want a sound system designed to help you feel every beat of your favorite jams. This is why the 2020 Jeep Renegade comes with an available nine-speaker Kenwood Premium Audio System and a 560-watt amp.
Paired with your Kenwood Premium Audio System are several additional tech features you'll fall in love with. It will also help turn your Jeep Renegade into a mobile command system.
The 2020 Jeep Renegade comes with Chrysler's UConnect system. Built into the touchscreen system you'll find Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so you can seamlessly sync your mobile device via Bluetooth. There is also a built-in available 4G Wi-Fi hotspot. This way, you can stream your favorite apps without pulling data on your phone. It also makes it possible for passengers to stream content on their mobile devices. Or, if you need to make some last-minute changes to work documents, you can pull over, power up your laptop, and connect to the 4G network inside your car.
Are you an Amazon Alexa smart assistant user? If so, the 2020 Jeep Renegade comes with a smart feature, allowing you to control your car while sitting inside the house. Have your hands full but need to turn the car on from the house? Just tell Alexa to turn it on. Want to heat up the Jeep, but you're in the shower, running a bit behind? Tell Alexa to do it, and your Renegade will respond. You will need to have the 4G feature on your Renegade for this to work, but it is an incredibly handy feature.
Jeep does everything in its power to keep you safe. That is why you will find over 70 standard and optional safety features on the 2020 Renegade. From preventive features to ways to improve your driving, you'll find a number of benefits built right into the Jeep Renegade.
First, you will love adaptive cruise control if you haven't used it before. Traditional cruise control is nice until you are bottled up and need to take control of your speed again (or someone is putting around in the passing lane on the highway). With adaptive cruise control, your Renegade will adjust its operating speed around traffic, keeping you safe and preventing you from kicking on and taking off cruise control as you drive.
Your Jeep Renegade also features blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection, plus Jeep's LaneSense, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. This will help you maintain your lane while also helping you avoid obstacles in the middle of the road. It also has a full-speed forward collision warning with active braking. Sometimes it is difficult to respond to a vehicle braking right in front of you. Your Jeep will activate braking for you in these instances.
Sometimes parking is more hassle than it should be. That's why the 2020 Jeep Renegade comes loaded with several safety features. This includes the ParkSense rear park assist system, which uses sensors to alert you when you are coming too close to an object. It also has ParkView rear back up camera, so you can see what is right behind you as you park. And for those tricky times where you need to parallel park in a tight space, the Renegade comes with Parallel and Perpendicular Park and Exit assist.
The Jeep Renegade is made using high-strength steel to help prevent injuries. It also has seven standard airbags to help protect everyone inside the vehicle. Additional safety features include available rain-sensing windshield wipers that sense when it is raining, plus Roadside Assistance via the ASSIST button and automatic high-beam headlamps, which comes built into the Advanced Technology Group package. All of this and more can be found on your 2020 Jeep Renegade.
