For some people, a pickup truck with a decent off-road trim might be enough to handle the kind of off-roading they like to do on the occasional weekend. But for others who demand serious off-road power and the ability to tackle the most challenging and rewarding trails out there, you need something more. Something like the 2020 Jeep Wrangler and the way in which it builds upon its legendary reputation to offer you more than you ever expected.
With the 2020 Wrangler, you get all the power and off-road performance you would expect, plus so much more. For one thing, there are three different engines available, but two of them have second options with eTorque – so you really have five engines to choose from. This lets you get exactly the level of power and performance you need, including greater available torque than has ever been offered on a Jeep Wrangler. But we should be clear: it is all about the off-road potential of this beauty, and if you like to hit the trail, then the Wrangler simply cannot be beaten.
Three available 4x4 systems let you handle any conditions you encounter and ensure you maintain traction to always stay in control. You get up to 30 inches of water fording ability with a design that lets you tackle creeks and streams easier than ever before. Rocks, fallen trees, and other obstacles will present you with no problem thanks to its terrific ground clearance, unsurpassed maneuverability, and an overall design born for the trail. Come visit us at Orange Coast CJDRF today to see the 2020 Jeep Wrangler for yourself and start dreaming about the off-road ahead.
With a serious off-road machine like the 2020 Jeep Wrangler, you want to make sure there is enough power at its heart to get you through any trail. There are five engines available for the Wrangler this year, though two of them are variants of other engines. A new EcoDiesel option offers more torque than has ever been available in the Wrangler and makes for a truly powerful driving experience with great performance on and off the road.
The 2020 Jeep Wrangler starts with a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that offers up to 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The standard version of this engine gets an estimated 17/25 mpg in the city/highway and can handle up to 3,500 lbs of towing when properly equipped. There is also an eTorque version of this that comes with a slight hybrid system, adding a battery-powered motor that boosts starting power and gives some extra torque when you need it.
Similarly, there is a 2.0L Turbo engine available that provides the Wrangler with up to 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine gets an estimated 21/24 mpg in the city and highway, so it offers better fuel economy than the V6 engine. There is also an eTorque version of this engine available for a bit more muscle when handling rough trails.
Finally, there is an available 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine that rounds out the lineup of powerful options for the 2020 Jeep Wrangler, providing up to 260hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. As you can see, this is a tremendous engine and it offers the highest amount of torque ever available in a Jeep Wrangler. If you know you plan on doing some rough off-roading with a lot of uphill action, then this engine is a great choice for the extra power and torque to get you through the trickiest trails.
Although the 2020 Jeep Wrangler looks great in general and is a fine vehicle for getting around town, at the end of the day, it is really built for heading off-road. The “Trail Rated” badge on the Wrangler is not just for show – it means the Wrangler has passed grueling tests to ensure it is ready for pretty much anything. No matter what you have planned, the 2020 Wrangler is up to the task and is designed from the ground up for serious off-roading.
There are three 4x4 systems available with the Wrangler so you can maintain great traction in even the roughest and most unpredictable conditions. The Wrangler also features excellent axle articulation and suspension designed to optimize articulation overall. This makes it ideal for handling rough trails with a lot of obstacles and unpredictable conditions – you know that no matter what you encounter, the Wrangler can overcome it.
This includes water, of course, since so many trails involve getting through shallow creeks and streams. The 2020 Jeep Wrangler is designed with high air intakes, sealed electrical connections, and moisture-resistant body openings to make it ideal for getting through water. It is rated for up to 30 inches of water fording, which should cover a wide range of water hazards you will encounter – anything deeper than that means you should be in a boat!
With available 33-inch tires, the 2020 Jeep Wrangler is built with exceptional ground clearance and includes underbody skid plates designed to protect the Jeep’s mechanical systems. This means you can tackle rocks and fallen logs, along with just about anything else you encounter on the trail, with ease. And the available Off-Road Pages on the Jeep’s Infotainment system displays information about your current location and altitude, your wheel articulation, axle condition, and other trail-related data for you to utilize. It all comes together to make the 2020 Wrangler the ultimate off-road vehicle that will make any day on the trail a successful one.
The inside of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler is the perfect blend of luxurious sophistication and practical functionality. While the exact features you get will depend on the trim level you look at and other options and packages you choose, the available interior options are the best they have ever been. It is clear the Jeep designers wanted the interior to be welcoming and comfortable while also making sure you can easily clean up after the trail.
There are some features you would expect, such as the available 8-inch touchscreen Infotainment display with Navigation, or the range of leather details available at certain trims. The unexpected, however, comes in the form of luxurious touches like an available 9-speaker Alpine Premium audio system that includes an overhead soundbar and an all-weather subwoofer, so even out on a rough trail you can listen to your favorite music and bask in the beauty of the moment.
Dual-zone automatic temperature control, available heated front seats and steering wheel, and available heated exterior mirrors make the 2020 Jeep Wrangler a perfect option for heading up into the mountains and playing in the snow. And it all comes together with weather-resistant removable carpets and a one-way floor drain that lets you easily wash out the inside after a day in the mud. Clearly, even the inside of the Wrangler was designed with off-roading in mind.
Even though the primary design element of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler is its off-road potential, it is still a vehicle that will help keep you safe on the road too. There are over 70 standard and available safety and security features on the Wrangler that will help protect you against the unexpected. Available ParkSense rear park assist and a ParkView rear backup camera make parking the Wrangler easier than ever before, especially when you need to maneuver into a tight spot.
Available active safety features include blind spot monitoring to help you with other drivers that like to hide where you cannot see them and forward collision warning that can help you avoid a crash. Adaptive cruise control is available, which automatically adjusts your speed to keep a safe distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you. The 2020 Wrangler also features available automatic high-beam headlamps, which come on when you need them and switch to low-beams when oncoming traffic is detected.
