While a lot of talk regarding the all-new 2022 Wagoneer is going to focus on its refined and luxurious interior – and with good reason – it is still worth looking at the performance of this model. As a large SUV, you would expect it to have a powerful engine, and it certainly comes through in this regard. A single engine is available for the all-new Wagoneer, but that is not a drawback since it has such an impressive powertrain.
The 2022 Wagoneer comes with a 5.7L V8 engine that delivers 392 hp and up to 404 lb-ft of torque, which comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This also features a brand-new, next-generation eTorque mild hybrid system. It is actually the first vehicle from Stellantis to have this newly upgraded eTorque system. With its hybrid functionality, the Wagoneer will be able to get excellent fuel efficiency while enjoying all of the power that this engine has to offer.
Rear-wheel drive comes standard on all 2022 Wagoneer models and is the only option for the starting Series I trim. If you choose one of the higher Series II or Series III trims, however, then four-wheel drive is available, which is perfect if you want to take the Wagoneer off-road or often find yourself in rough terrain. The 2022 Wagoneer may be a luxury vehicle, but it can still get down and dirty when needed.

For starters, you will want to choose either a Series II or Series III trim level because they have four-wheel drive available. The 2022 Wagoneer comes with 20-inch wheels standard, which are great, but the available 22-inch wheels are an excellent upgrade option for hitting the trail. With this package, the Wagoneer gains four aluminum skid plates to protect the lower front fascia, fuel tank, transfer case, and front suspension. If you choose this package with the available Quadra-Lift air suspension, then you can get up to 10 inches of ground clearance for the 2022 Wagoneer. Combine all of this with front tow hooks and a Class IV hitch integrated into the rear bumper for up to 10,000 lbs of towing, and you have yourself an excellent and sophisticated, large SUV for going off-road.
Even if you ignore everything else the 2022 Wagoneer has to offer and only look at its luxury and tech features, then you will still see why so many people are excited about this SUV. Inside the Wagoneer you will find three rows of seating, with seats for eight passengers, standard. You can choose available second-row captain’s chairs for more comfort in the second row and total seating for up to seven people instead.
In terms of luxury, the Wagoneer is truly on another level compared to other SUVs out there. The one-piece instrument panel is gorgeous, and the cabin is filled with rich details, including leather upholstery, 12-way power-adjustable seats, and ambient interior lighting. You get three-zone climate control to ensure everyone is comfortable, Nappa leather-trimmed seating, with full leather seating available, and an available tri-pane sunroof with power side steps to make getting into and out of the Wagoneer even easier.
The technology inside the all-new Wagoneer goes beyond comfortable seating with up to 50 total inches of displays available. This includes a 10-inch digital driver display, a 10-inch infotainment display, and an available 10-inch front-passenger display.
