  • Overview

A silver 2022 Wagoneer Series II is angled left.

From 1963 to 1993, the Jeep Wagoneer was one of the most popular and impressive SUV models on the road. It has been missing for nearly 30 years, but now an all-new 2022 Wagoneer is on the horizon, and it looks to take SUV design and luxury to an entirely new level. Inside and out, the new Wagoneer is an amazing piece of machinery, with impressive performance, excellent towing capacity, and a bold design that is truly gorgeous. And the interior features are beyond anything we have seen in a vehicle of this size, providing you with an elegance that you will not find anywhere else.

The 2022 Wagoneer is a large, three-row SUV with plenty of space inside for your passengers and for any cargo you need to take with you. It has a powerful engine that delivers up to 392 hp and 404 lb-ft of torque, with a next-generation eTorque mild hybrid system to help improve fuel economy and overall performance. All of this power means the Wagoneer can have up to 10,000 lbs of towing capacity, making it the perfect choice for taking a boat or camper with you wherever you want to go. With more than 120 standard and available safety features, including available intersection collision assist, you know that you and your passengers are safe on the road.

We have never seen an interior quite like what the 2022 Wagoneer has to offer: up to 50 inches of total screen area throughout. This includes a digital driver display, a reconfigurable infotainment display with the all-new Uconnect 5 system, and an available 10-inch passenger display. It all comes together to clearly show that the all-new Wagoneer is not just another SUV; it is the future of the industry. Power and Performance

While a lot of talk regarding the all-new 2022 Wagoneer is going to focus on its refined and luxurious interior – and with good reason – it is still worth looking at the performance of this model. As a large SUV, you would expect it to have a powerful engine, and it certainly comes through in this regard. A single engine is available for the all-new Wagoneer, but that is not a drawback since it has such an impressive powertrain.

The 2022 Wagoneer comes with a 5.7L V8 engine that delivers 392 hp and up to 404 lb-ft of torque, which comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This also features a brand-new, next-generation eTorque mild hybrid system. It is actually the first vehicle from Stellantis to have this newly upgraded eTorque system. With its hybrid functionality, the Wagoneer will be able to get excellent fuel efficiency while enjoying all of the power that this engine has to offer.

Rear-wheel drive comes standard on all 2022 Wagoneer models and is the only option for the starting Series I trim. If you choose one of the higher Series II or Series III trims, however, then four-wheel drive is available, which is perfect if you want to take the Wagoneer off-road or often find yourself in rough terrain. The 2022 Wagoneer may be a luxury vehicle, but it can still get down and dirty when needed.

    Off-Road Potential

The luxurious and sophisticated features of the 2022 Wagoneer are getting a lot of attention, but it should be pointed out that this impressive, large SUV has really noteworthy off-road potential. Not every model is necessarily ideal for serious off-roading, but even the standard Wagoneer is perfect for taking on camping trips or for long road trips. However, if you really want to hit some more challenging terrain and do some off-roading in the Wagoneer, then consider a few available features.

For starters, you will want to choose either a Series II or Series III trim level because they have four-wheel drive available. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all models, but choosing four-wheel drive is a pretty important upgrade that makes a huge difference for going off-road. The 2022 Wagoneer comes with 20-inch wheels standard, which are great, but the available 22-inch wheels are an excellent upgrade option for hitting the trail. But the most important optional feature is the available Advanced All-Terrain Package.

With this package, the Wagoneer gains four aluminum skid plates to protect the lower front fascia, fuel tank, transfer case, and front suspension. If you choose this package with the available Quadra-Lift air suspension, then you can get up to 10 inches of ground clearance for the 2022 Wagoneer. Combine all of this with front tow hooks and a Class IV hitch integrated into the rear bumper for up to 10,000 lbs of towing, and you have yourself an excellent and sophisticated, large SUV for going off-road.

    Luxury and Technology

Even if you ignore everything else the 2022 Wagoneer has to offer and only look at its luxury and tech features, then you will still see why so many people are excited about this SUV. This model is truly going to redefine the luxury experience for a lot of people, and other manufacturers are already looking at the Wagoneer and trying to figure out how to catch up. Inside the Wagoneer you will find three rows of seating, with seats for eight passengers, standard. You can choose available second-row captain’s chairs for more comfort in the second row and total seating for up to seven people instead.

In terms of luxury, the Wagoneer is truly on another level compared to other SUVs out there. The one-piece instrument panel is gorgeous, and the cabin is filled with rich details, including leather upholstery, 12-way power-adjustable seats, and ambient interior lighting. You get three-zone climate control to ensure everyone is comfortable, Nappa leather-trimmed seating, with full leather seating available, and an available tri-pane sunroof with power side steps to make getting into and out of the Wagoneer even easier.

The technology inside the all-new Wagoneer goes beyond comfortable seating with up to 50 total inches of displays available. This includes a 10-inch digital driver display, a 10-inch infotainment display, and an available 10-inch front-passenger display. The passenger screen includes integrated navigation and entertainment functions, letting your front-seat companion easily act as a co-pilot while you focus on driving. With an available 19-speaker McIntosh premium entertainment system and Amazon FireTV and Alexa integration, it is easy to really enjoy yourself whether you are running errands, heading to work, or enjoying a road trip.

    Steadfast Safety

All of the luxury and sophisticated technology in the world does not matter if a vehicle cannot help keep you safe on the road. Fortunately, the 2022 Wagoneer includes some of the most impressive standard and available safety features we have ever seen. This means that no matter how you are enjoying the all-new Wagoneer, you will know that you and your loved ones are protected while you are behind the wheel.

Standard safety features on the Wagoneer include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and pedestrian detection to help protect others in parking lots and similar areas. The Wagoneer also comes with Pedestrian and Cyclist Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Monitoring, all standard, no matter which model you are interested in. Beyond that, however, there are also a number of impressive available features.

For example, the Series II Premium trim includes Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist and a 360-degree Surround View Camera system, which give you a better look at the area around your vehicle than standard mirrors and cameras allow. The Premium trims also include a Head-Up Display so you can monitor your speed, navigational information, and safety alerts without ever taking your eyes off the road. There is also an available Intersection Collision Assist function, which helps detect potential collisions even in the heavy traffic of intersections, where danger can come from numerous directions. All of this comes together to make the all-new Wagoneer one of the safest vehicles on the road.
