About
Practicality doesn’t have to look boring. When you want the passenger space of a minivan with the looks, power, and conveniences of an SUV, you need a model with third-row seating. This is where the 2023 Wagoneer L comes in. This new SUV comes with standard third-row seating, can seat eight passengers, and offers up to 141 cubic feet of cargo space. It supplies all of this while offering a chiseled, stylish exterior that you won’t be able to find on a minivan.
Its history dates all the way back to 1962 when Jeep replaced the Willys Station Wagon with the Wagoneer SUV; however, by 1991, the Jeep Wagoneer’s production was halted. Now it’s being rebooted as its own brand, offering a luxurious and family-friendly design. This model was always intended for families, but now it’s even better, thanks to new tech updates, better capability features, and more interior space than ever before.
Just remember that there are two similar models out right now – the Wagoneer L and the Grand Wagoneer L, the main difference between cargo space ratings. Today, we’re diving into the Wagoneer L’s features to see if it’s the better fit for you.
Starting at
Like any good SUV, the Wagoneer L is both tow and off-road-capable. This specific model can tow up to 10,000 pounds, meaning that boats, small to medium-sized campers, and average trailers are no problem for this SUV. This is thanks to the Wagoneer’s new 3.0L "Hurricane" Turbo I-6 that produces 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. Its best-in-class max tow rating shows that no other luxury SUV in this class can tow as much as the 2023 Wagoneer L can.
While you probably don't expect a luxury vehicle to be able to handle the demands of the trails, the Wagoneer L will probably surprise you with how well it can handle getting off the pavement. This model is plenty off-road capable, especially when it comes to weekend camping trips and adventures. Thanks to the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System, you can choose from five different terrain modes that will adjust your traction based on specific road conditions. For example, you can kick it into Snow Mode during rough winter conditions or Mud/Ruts when you’re on a beaten backroad. The torque distribution will increase your traction and help you feel more confident when tackling adverse road conditions.
You can also choose from up to four different 4x4 systems on this model––the Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II system. These systems are always engaged, but the Quadra-Trac II system adds on a two-speed low transfer case for better climbing capability. Quadra-Trac I is best for average drivers, but if you want a little more off-roading power, you can choose from one of the other two systems.
Frequent towers and haulers will benefit from the Wagoneer L’s optional Quadra-Lift Air Suspension feature, which includes several towing features like 10-inch ground clearance, a 3.6-inch suspension travel rating, a ParkView Rear Backup Camera, and Integrated Trailer Brake Control. The backup camera comes with a zoomed-in hitch view that helps you line up the trailer with ease, and the Trailer Brake Controller helps ensure an efficient full stop for both your Wagoneer L and your trailer.
Interior space is important when you’re searching for a family-friendly vehicle. The 2023 Wagoneer L offers efficient passenger and cargo space, plus plenty of tech and convenience features to keep everyone comfortable and entertained for the ride.
The 2023 Wagoneer L offers best-in-class overall passenger space, as well as best-in-class second and third-row legroom. It comes with a power-folding third-row bench seat which can also be split 60/40, plus power-folding second-row seating. This allows you to easily customize your passenger-to-cargo ratio. When all the seats are down, the full cargo area can hold up to 141 cubic feet of space. The Wagoneer L offers a best-in-class cargo rating when all the seats are up as well, thanks to 42 cubic feet of cargo space.
The new Wagoneer L offers plenty of comfort features as well, including Tri-Zone Climate Control, which allows the driver, front passenger, and rear passengers to customize their individual temperature settings. The Wagoneer also includes front-heated and ventilated leather seating.
There are also several entertainment features, including a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment center that gives you access to comfort features, Bluetooth connectivity, Navigation, music, and much more. In addition to the standard Uconnect 5 system, you can add on a class-exclusive Passenger Interactive Display, where your front seat passenger can control music and other fun features. The Passenger Interactive Display also includes controls for the rear seat system.
This brings us to the Wagoneer L’s Rear Seat Entertainment. Second-row passengers get two 10.1-inch rear-seat entertainment screens. These screens both come with Amazon Fire technology and can be used to watch shows, play games, and more. Passengers can either choose their own entertainment options or share the same game or show on their individual screens.
Of course, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technologies are standard on the 2023 Wagoneer L, and you can also use a wireless device charging pad in addition to standard USB charging ports. The Wagoneer App and Wagoneer Connect features make it easy to control your Wagoneer L remotely, allowing you to lock and unlock the vehicles, control the climate, locate the vehicle, and much more.
No one can keep your vehicle as safe as you; that said, driver assist features can help you stay on top of safety by providing additional protection on the road. That’s why the 2023 Wagoneer includes 120+ driver assist and safety technology features to help keep you and your family safe.
You can depend on the Wagoneer’s detection and braking technologies to help protect you from accidents. This model comes with Pedestrian and Cyclist Emergency Braking and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking. These systems will alert you when a pedestrian, cyclist, or vehicle is too close, and there’s a collision risk. If you don’t heed the warning quickly enough, the brakes will be applied.
This model also comes with Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection. When you’re driving on a multi-lane road, Blind Spot Monitoring can warn you when it’s unsafe to switch lanes. Rear Cross Path Detection helps in parking situations. When you need to back out from a parking spot, but you can’t tell if the aisle is clear, Rear Cross Path Detection has your back. It will alert you when the path isn’t clear.
The new Wagoneer L has several other safety technologies as well. Let’s look closely at a few more safety features.
These are only a few of the 2023 Wagoneer L’s 120 safety features, but they’re some of the most helpful ones. Thanks to the Wagoneer L’s safety technologies, you can feel comfortable and confident purchasing this model for yourself and your family.
